Chilworth Manor Vineyard to launch brand-new Watch House Tasting Barn in May
It’s a hugely exciting year for Chilworth Manor Vineyard, near Guildford, as they launch their brand-new Watch House Tasting Barn in May, just in time for this year’s Summer Spectacular festival weekend.
The history of Chilworth Manor dates back a thousand years but the vineyard itself is still young, with planting starting in 2013.
Their highly sustainable Surrey Hills site now stretches to more than ten acres but, for the past two years, visits have been limited as new vines have been planted and the tasting barn constructed.
Named after the original watch house that once stood on the vineyard site, the Watch House and Cellar Door will host tours and tastings, workshops with wine, sparkling afternoon teas and other special events.
This new programme of vineyard events will sit alongside Chilworth Classics, such as their charity fundraisers, Picnics & Pinks and Surrey NGS open garden days.
With its stunning views over the vineyard and across to St Martha's Hill, high on the North Downs Way, the Watch House is the perfect spot to try Chilworth Manor’s sparkling wines and still rosé.
As they join Denbies Wine Estate, Albury Organic Vineyard, Greyfriars Vineyard and High Clandon Estate Vineyard in regularly welcoming visitors, this marks the next exciting stage of the Vineyards of the Surrey Hills wine route and wine tourism in Surrey.
