Celebrating the end of English Wine Week, Vineyards of the Surrey Hills’ Summer Spectacular wine festival weekend on Saturday June 28 and Sunday June 29 will offer a glorious opportunity to explore English wine and the Surrey Hills wine route.
From Greyfriars Vineyard in the west near Guildford to Denbies Wine Estate in the east near Dorking, barely 15 miles separates our vineyards - making it an intimate and enjoyable English wine route to explore in just a couple of days.
What to look forward to on the Surrey Hills wine route…
Albury Organic Vineyard
Silent Pool, Shere Road, Albury, Surrey GU5 9BW
The Albury Wine Festival will take place on Sunday June 29, 11am to 5pm, featuring tours of the vineyard, access to their wildlife walk, wine tasting, masterclasses with a renowned English wine expert, local artisan food and more, as well as the chance to sample wines from all of the Surrey Hills vineyards.
Tickets for Albury Wine Festival are £15 and include entry to the vineyard, including their new self-guided wildlife walk and vineyard tour, a glass of Silent Pool Rosé (or a soft drink) on arrival and a beautiful Albury branded glass to take home.
The Surrey Hills Wine Tasting, featuring wines from all five Vineyards of the Surrey Hills in a tutored session led by English wine expert John Mobbs, founder of Great British Wine, is an additional £20 per person.
Chilworth Manor Vineyard
Halfpenny Lane, Chilworth, Guildford, Surrey GU4 8NN
On Saturday June 28, Chilworth Manor Vineyard will host Chilworth Wine Festival. Relax and enjoy an afternoon and early evening of music, premium quality English sparkling and still rosé wine and delicious street food. The vineyard will be open to be explored from mid-afternoon to early evening.
Denbies Wine Estate
London Road, Dorking, Surrey RH5 6AA
To celebrate the Summer Spectacular, Denbies will host the Surrey Hills Wine Country Tasting Menu on Saturday June 28, 6pm to 10pm.
Enjoy a specialist tasting and tour on Denbies Wine Train followed by a three-course tasting menu paired with selected wines from the Surrey Hills.
Offering breath-taking views across the avenues of vines, this is a real immersion into the art of English wine.
Tickets for the Surrey Hills Wine Country Tasting Menu are £65 per person.
And then, on Sunday June 29, 11.30am to 5pm, their Summer Spectacular Cellar Door Tasting will be an informal tasting of Denbies premium wines with their Cellar Master at the Cellar Door.
With a focus on Denbies premium wine range, this tasting includes barrel tastings and sampling of the multi award-winning Cubitt Blanc de Noir magnum.
Tasting sessions take place at at 11.30am to 12.30pm and 1pm to 2pm, and are priced at £18 per person.
Following this, you will be able to enjoy some of the finest wine from all five of the Vineyards of the Surrey Hills with an afternoon of tastings on the lawn. Stone baked pizza, hot dogs, and other refreshments will be available - all accompanied by live entertainment from musician, Luke Edney.

Greyfriars Vineyard

Greyfriars Vineyard invites you to join in the festivities as they celebrate a significant milestone - their 15th Anniversary Celebration - on Saturday June 28, 12 noon to 7pm.
Throughout the afternoon, they have arranged an exciting lineup of activities designed to entertain and engage guests of all ages.

Explore the vineyard through mini tours, where you can learn about the winemaking process and the unique characteristics of their grapes that contribute to their award-winning wines.
A highlight of the day will be the special masterclass led by Mike Wagstaff, the owner of Greyfriars Vineyard.
With over 15 years of experience and a passion for viticulture, Mike will share his insights and expertise of wine tasting.
Adding to the excitement, there will be a surprise guest joining Mike for this exclusive session, promising an enriching experience for both wine enthusiasts and novices.

High Clandon Estate Vineyard

High Clandon’s Summer Spectacular celebrations will stretch out over two weekends this year, starting with their infamous Battle of Waterloo: Surrey Hills sparkling wine v Champagne tasting event on Saturday June 14, 2025. Tickets to be confirmed in April.
The Summer Spectacular weekend itself will see the launch of their Art & Sculptures in the Vineyard event, which runs from Sunday June 29 to Sunday July 13.
Open 11am to 4pm daily, Art & Sculptures in the Vineyard also marks the launch of High Clandon’s latest aged-vintage, the exquisite 2020 The Cerulean Cuvée, named for the Grecian goddess of the celestial heavens, halcyon blue skies bliss and tranquillity.
Explore a superb collection of more than 100 works of art and sculpture from major English artists on show in the gardens, wildflower meadows, vineyard and Glass Barn - all while raising money for the fantastic Surrey charity, Cherry Trees.
The owners of High Clandon, Bruce and Sibylla Tindale, ask for £7 per person donation for Cherry Trees as entry to Art & Sculpture in the Vineyard, with a percentage of sales of art and wine also going to Cherry Trees. High Clandon has raised around £130,000 for Cherry Trees in events held at the vineyard since 2014.
